Pete Shainin
Pete ShaininChairman
Pete has spent over 40 years providing design, testing and solutions support to engineering and manufacturing organizations across a range of industries, worldwide. As CEO of the company, Pete provides leadership and works closely with the executive team to set strategic direction for Shainin. He earned a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology and is a licensed professional engineer.
Craig Hysong
Craig HysongPresident and CEO
Craig has held a wide range of senior positions within the automotive industry. His management experience includes manufacturing engineering, new product launch, quality, reliability, and cost improvement. In 1998, he joined Shainin and is currently President of the company. Prior to joining Shainin, he worked at General Motors and ITT Automotive. Craig earned a bachelor of science in electrical engineering from the Pennsylvania State University and a master of science in manufacturing systems engineering from Lehigh, which he attended as a General Motors Fellow. He is a licensed professional engineer and an American Society for Quality (ASQ) certified Quality Engineer, Reliability Engineer, Quality Auditor, and Quality Manager.
John Abrahamian
John AbrahamianExecutive Vice President
John has global responsibility for the timely and effective delivery of Shainin problem solving and resilient design services. Since joining Shainin in 1998, he has established systems to ensure a consistent approach while still providing the customization required for each client”s unique situation. His experience in a wide range of industries, including aerospace, automotive, medical devices, and consumer products positions him to guide cross functional teams through manufacturing and engineering challenges. Prior to joining Shainin, John worked for Pratt & Whitney, a United Technologies company as a design and development engineer of jet engines and space propulsion systems. He also served as a manager responsible for implementing both lean manufacturing and value engineering. He holds a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from the University of Connecticut and a master of business administration from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Richard D. Shainin
Richard D. ShaininExecutive Vice President
Richard is an author and lecturer. He wrote the “Multi-Vari Charts” chapter for the Encyclopedia of Statistics in Quality and Reliability (Wiley 2008). He has also published papers in Quality Engineering and Six Sigma Forum. He has been a frequent speaker at quality conferences including the ASQ World Conference. Dick was named the 2014 Quality Leader of the Year by the ASQ Automotive Division. Prior to joining Shainin in 1991, Dick worked at AT&T where he led high-performance teams in engineering, operations, marketing and sales. He currently guides class development and delivery, and he continues to work with client leadership to develop and implement Shainin programs. Dick has a bachelor of engineering degree from Stevens Institute of Technology (Hoboken, NJ), and an MBA from American University (Washington, D.C.). He is a graduate of the AT&T Management Development Program.
Constantin Berg
Constantin BergVice President Europe & Asia, Managing Director Shainin GmbH
Constantin is experienced in Technical Problem Solving, Resilient Supply Chain and Project Management. He joined Shainin in 2011 as a Consultant after having gained extensive experience in the automotive and natural gas industries. Constantin has a dual degree in technology and business management from the Technical University of Munich, Germany. He speaks fluent Spanish, English and German.
Constantin Berg
Amarnath ChakravartyGeneral Manager of India
Amarnath is the General Manager responsible for operational activities in India, and is headquartered at our office in Pune. Prior to joining Shainin, he gained significant experience in Structured Problem Solving during 11 years in different roles within the automotive industry. His last station was at Tata Motors where he was responsible for root cause analysis at a major manufacturing facility. During his career he has worked in the field of process optimization, warranty failures and gear manufacturing technologies. He is an engineering graduate from Birla Institute of Technology at Mesra and also holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Management from Xavier’s Labour Relations Institute at Jamshedpur with a major both in Strategy and Finance.
Harry Flotemersch
Sergio LizarragaGeneral Manager of Mexico
Sergio has 30 years career with experience in OEMs like Ford, GM and FCA, as well as Tier 1 suppliers. He has experience in different disciplines like IT Management, Supplier Quality, World Class Manufacturing (as an implementation leader in an assembly plant), Quality Management Systems (Certified Lead Auditor in ISO9001, 14001, 18001 and 50001). Sergio’s Shainin experience started back in 1998, and has been with Shainin for more than 13 years. At Shainin his experience includes coaching projects and teaching classes in Mexico, Spain, Portugal and Brazil. The range of projects in which Sergio has worked cover automotive assembly and components, electronics, foundry, machining, chemical products, medical, among others. He earned a Bachelor in Electronics and Communications from ITESM (Tec de Monterrey) and a Master Degree in IT Management, also from ITESM.
Harry Flotemersch
Michelle ShiOperation Manager
Michelle is a certified Six Sigma Black and Certified Project Manager by PMI®. She is responsible for providing timely and effective Shainin problem-solving solutions to customers in Asia. Before joining Shainin, she had been working in New energy power battery and Automobile Industries, she had extensive experience in data analysis, problem solving, and project management. Her last stop before joining Shainin was a world’s leading automotive parts supplier R & D center, specializing in Lean Six Sigma design and manufacturing training, coaching and problem solving, dedicated to introducing fast problem solutions into Project Trouble Free Launch. During this period, Michelle successfully introduced the structured problem-Solving strategy into the company’s technology Center and realized the standardization. Since joining Shainin, she has been responsible for training Red X® Advanced Strategies, project coaching and applying structured problem-solving strategies to help customers build a problem-solving culture and solve complex problems, while focusing on continuous development of problem-solving methodologies to achieve continuous improvement and innovation in Red X® problem solving strategies. She is well recognized by the trainees as a professional coach.

Technical Director

Shainin technical directors guide project delivery teams to ensure problem solving engagements are completed successfully. They review project planning and execution to maintain technical standards. Most importantly, they keep Shainin clients apprised of project progress and roadblocks.

Technical directors are responsible for developing the engineers on their team to maintain Shainin’s ability to solve our clients most complex technical problems by uncovering the hidden causes keeping systems from performing their best.

Milind Vale
Milind ValeTechnical Director, Problem Solving Services
Milind has been solving tough manufacturing and quality problems for more than 25 years. Prior to joining Shainin, Milind had extensive consulting and manufacturing experience within the automotive industry working for OEMs and suppliers. Milind holds a master of science in manufacturing technology from Eastern Michigan University and a master of science in engineering management from Rensselaer Polytechnic. In addition, he is an ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Reliability Engineer, Quality Manager, and Quality Auditor.
Esther Fondermann
Esther FondermannTechnical Director
Esther has extensive experience in Problem Solving, Resilient Design and Development and Training Services in a wide range of diverse industries. She has been actively applying Shainin Red X Problem Solving and Prevention Strategies since 2006. In 2012, Esther joined Shainin as a Senior Consultant and in 2015 was promoted to Technical Manager and is responsible for the German speaking markets of Europe. Esther was promoted to Technical Director on 1 January, 2019. Prior to joining Shainin, Esther studied mechanical engineering at the University of Bochum in Germany. She also worked for a vehicle manufacturer in different positions such as: Quality Engineer in engine production, Master Black Belt in Vehicle Development, Manager of the Program Management Department, and she was an Executive Assistant to the Vice President. Esther has extensive manufacturing, engineering, quality management and new product launch experience within the automotive and aerospace industries.
Harry Flotemersch
Richard SauquetTechnical Manager
Richard is currently a Shainin Technical Manager for Europe & Asia who has gained experience in both Problem Solving and Management Systems in the Automotive as well as the Oil & Gas industries. Prior to joining Shainin, Richard was responsible for continuous improvement and problem solving programs based on Red X®, Six Sigma, DFSS, Robust Engineering and Lean principles. He is an expert trainer, coach, and problem solving master using a wide variety of tools and methods. His experience includes skilled application in managing product as well as process quality. He has profound knowledge in product & manufacturing engineering as well as supply chain aspects of lean management. Richard is a certified engineer having graduated from Institut Supérieur de l’Automobile et des Transports, and is also certified as a Six Sigma Master Black Belt, Lean Manager, and Red X® Master.
